Beautiful place. Excellent view of the mountains to the west and the Great Plains to the east. Pay attention to pricing and limits on your stay. Definitely worth the visit.

So much potential, but a bit trashy, invaded by loud music. I was so looking forward to a nice lake. The lake itself was nice. With a tad of love this place could be really nice.

Non-electric $10/ day

Electric sites $14/day

We spent the night in the middle of the week in August and had a fine experience. The gate and the showers are locked at sunset, which was a surprise (the showers being locked was unexpected). It was a little louder than the Coyote Creek or Cimmarron Valley state parks, but the view on the lake was gorgeous. This is quite a popular park.

Dump station closed (dump at park across from Walmart).

3 miles north of Las Vegas, nm on hwy 518.

Primitive $8/day

Really clean, well taken care of and maintained public park and lake. We really enjoyed our stay and the availability of public restroom showers was a most convenient and welcomed luxury.

Our home away from home. Love Camping here. 4 different campgrounds, North; 10 electric sites all side by side, small lake view near road, pit toilet, group shelters, also North 10 non-electric sites with shelters, tables, fire rings & water, most with nice lake views. South; 10 electric, 10 non-electric all with enclosures, tables, fire rings, water, shade, pit toilet, showers, host, lake view. River; 4 electric sites, shelters, water, lake view, secluded, group shelter, closed in winter. Primitive; camp anywhere around the lake, no shelter, shade, water or electric.

Showers closed in winter.
