Excellent food an service
Yelp viewers gave this a 4&1/2 stars. the meal was good but the chicken for the enchilada was very dry and the pork in my stuffy was good (pork inside a sopapia). The sauces both red and green were enjoyable but ask for a sample as it could be very hot depending on the time of year. They use seeds and all. My green sauce was excellent and the red sauce was good. Over all a good meal but not quite the New Mexico food I remember as a kid. I look forward to discovering more great restaurants while we are in New Mexico.
Went through drive through. Waitress wasn't very welcoming. Placed our order. After 10 minutes of waiting for her to process payment, she approached the window and said ok it'll be 15 minutes. There was a car behind me. She asked me to drive around and get behind the other car. So I did. It wasn't even a customer she asked me to move for. She had someone dropping things off to her through the window? After the car drove away I drove back to the window and waited over 20 minutes. There was literally 3 cars in the parking lot. Everyone working was just kinda hanging out using their cell phones.
Awesome place to eat, inexpensive and you get a large portion of food. Highly recommend this place.
Had lunch today at Rafael's. I've lived in NM for 50 years and I'm a graduate of NM Highlands, so I know NM food. Today's enchilada special was (and I'm serious) the worst I have ever had. The red chile was burnt, the cheese processed, the whole beans tasted canned, and the sopapillas were doughy and greasy. The service was fine, as was the atmosphere, but I found the meal inedible. I live now in Santa Fe, but have eaten and enjoyed the food at Rafael's in years past .... yet, (and I am serious) today's red chile cheese enchilada was the Worst I have ever had anywhere in New Mexico! Please, for your future prosperity, fix it.
